ICD-10 Compass: Moving from ICD-9

Highcharts, jQuery, and Handlebars JavaScript Together for a Rich User Experience

ICD-10 is the latest revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD). This 10th revision is a medical classification list by the World Health Organization (WHO). Daymuse Studios has been working with The Advisory Board Company to produce the prototype interface of their ICD-10-based review tool; ICD-10 Compass.

ICD-10 Compass by The Advisory Board Company offers:

It’s possible to get a complete picture of your documentation and coding performance. We shine a light on your biggest opportunities so you can improve revenue capture, prepare for ICD-10, prevent takebacks, and improve quality measures.

The prototype we teamed together to create utilized a rich user interface heavily dependent on JavaScript. As the product consumes data and converts it to visual charts and graphs, we implemented the Highcharts.js library. We also utilized the Handlebars.js library to template the JSON data source.

Ultimately, moving to the latest revision intends to save costs and raise care quality. It's always exciting for us to be able to work on these sorts of projects: they improve healthcare quality and make availability of it stretch just a bit further. The initial prototype has now become an exclusive product of our partner, The Advisory Board Company.
